BIO/CV
Chris Blakeley has been a professional photographer since 2007, though he’s been taking pictures since he got his first camera in grade school. He’d have made the jump sooner but he was still waiting to get some film back from the developers.
Born and educated in Michigan before moving to Seattle in 1999, Mr. Blakeley jump-started his photographic career by jumping in to the then burgeoning burlesque and cabaret scene, working with top producers to shoot their shows. It’s here, across six years, that he honed his style learning to capture the crucial moments of beauty and drama on the stage and bringing those techniques to the studio.
His work has been seen in The Seattle Times, Seattle Weekly, The Stranger, Seattle Met, NPR.com, was featured in the documentary film The Unlikely Career of Waxie Moon and has worked extensively with Verlaine/McCann Productions (creators of the Land of the Sweets)
